The artworks in this exhibit have been produced in response to the 2022/23 CHCI Global Humanities Institute 'Post-extractivist legacies and landscapes: Humanities, artistic and activist responses’ which was led by the UCD Humanities Institute.

I am honoured that UCD, and the Humanities Institute have acquired four paintings created during my time as Main Project Artist for the international study ‘Post-extractivist Legacies and Landscapes: Humanities, Artistic and Activist Responses’ 2022 – 2024. These are on the theme of mining and were made in response to research trips to mine sites in Estonia, Ireland, and South Africa. They are from my Capitalocene: From a Time of Ambition... series. Glad to participate in this project. A conversation with scientist Dr John Gallagher and Valeria took place in Balbriggan Library in September 2023 to accompany an exhibition of my Ida Virumaa paintings.

I was delighted to give the keynote address as main project artist to participating academics from around the world on the Arts Evening of the Main Project Conference of the ‘Post-extractivist Legacies and Landscapes’ Study in July 2023.

Capitalocene: From A Time of Ambition... To A Time of Sustainability
I am delighted to collaborate with UCD's Humanities Institute's CHCI-funded international study, 'Post-extractive legacies and landscapes: Humanities, artistic and activist responses'.
I am creating this body of work, images from which will be shown on the Creative Practice part of the dedicated website for this study.

I place Samuel Beckett’s chair against a backdrop of mid-eighteenth century French wallpaper. He spent many fruitful and creative years in Paris and enjoyed success there in the publication of his work.

On the closure of Fierce Pride: A Response to Death of an Irishwoman in Excel Tipperary due to Covid-19, Dr Maebh O’Regan produced the short video Judy Carroll Deeley responds to Death of an Irishwoman. This exhibition was an homage to Bridget Halpin, grandmother of the poet Michael Hartnett, and subject of the poem.
